President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Amina Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, on her re-appointment to a second term.
The Nigerian leader assured her of citizens' prayers and support, as well as the support of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), where she had previously served.
The President expressed gratitude to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for his trust in the former Minister of the Environment.
According to a statement released by Mohammed's spokesman, Femi Adesina, it was another opportunity for Mohammed to serve the world body and mankind, enhancing Nigeria's voice and presence.
Mohammed's commitment to duty has always been extraordinary, according to Buhari, and her desire to improve people's lives via personal and institutional efforts continues to distinguish her.
"Many women in Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the world look up to the UN Deputy Secretary General," he said.
The re-appointment was celebrated by the President, who was accompanied by the renowned technocrat and diplomat's family, friends, and allies.
