Prof George Obiozor, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, says the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) do not speak for the entire Southeast.
Obiozor, though, said the group's rage sprang from perceived injustice.
The Ohanaeze President-General revealed this on Arise TV on Friday.
The IPOB recently announced a ban on cow meat eating in the South-East, a move that enraged Northern politicians.
But, according to Obiozor, “IPOB does not speak for Igbo, and that is the truth.”
“To be honest, the IPOB wrath is a result of long-standing perceived or genuine injustice against Ndigbo.
It's a common theme among teenagers across the country.
“However, they are not mandated to speak for Ndigbo.”
Northern Groups for making provocative remarks.
In his youthful enthusiasm, their youths make certain comments like “all Igbo must leave the North,” he claimed.
IPOB, led by Nnamdi Kanu, has been demanding Biafra and protesting the government's alleged marginalization of the Southeast.
As a result, Kanu was arrested and charged with treason in Abuja.
The DSS has him locked up right now.
Leaders in the Southeast have been calling for his release.
President Muhammadu Buhari has refused to free Kanu, stating that he will not interfere with the court process.
