He's the bumbling Brit who was recently declared more globally recognisable than the Duchess of Cambridge.
So it's no wonder Mr Bean caused a huge stir when he touched down in China for the first time this week.
Rowan Atkinson has brought his beloved character back to life to front a TV advert in Shanghai.
Where's he Bean: Rowan Atkinson has donned his tweed jacket once again to play Mr Bean
Gurn: The star gurned his way through a sketch as he filmed a TV commercial in Shanghai, China
In
a series of pictures, the funnyman can be seen sporting his alter-ego's
omnipresent tweed jacket, red tie and white shirt combo as he gurned
his way through a skit.
Although
it isn't known what product the commercial is promoting, the character
was seen holding a camera and a postcard as he arrived outside
Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena.
And obviously, being Mr Bean, trouble wasn't far away.
The
commercial then featured the Mini-driving fool involved in a stand-off
with a Chinese man in a traditional suit, silly wig and fake moustache.
Mr Bean's Holiday: Although it wasn't
clear what product the advert was for, the bumbling character seemed
keen to take pictures of local landmarks
Just for Laughs: The funnyman relished being able to play one of his most famous roles
As
he is surrounded by a group of locals, Mr Bean leaves the man mystified
as he appears to pull out a chocolate bar and chomp down on it.
He then shows off his martial arts skills, knocking the man flying with a Kung Fu kick.
Atkinson
also garnered attention as he touched down in the country - with fans
flocking to get a snap of the 59-year-old as he made his way through the
airport.
It's
the first time fans have seen the iconic comedy character since his
showstopping performance at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London
Games.
Trouble ahead: Being Mr Bean, the character was bound to run into trouble at some point
Chow down: The character munched down on a chocolate bar as he was surrounded by extras sporting traditional dress
Kung Fu fighting: Rowan showed off his Martial Arts skills as he knocked a fellow actor flying with a high kick
A
bored Bean famously joined the London Symphony Orchestra as it played
Chariots of Fire. With Atkinson in character on the keyboard, he
proceeded to take out his phone half-way through the performance and
then sneezed - all while playing the same key repetitively through the
set.
The
character being used to sell products comes just weeks after a survey
found that Mr Bean was one of the most instantly recognisable Brits
among foreigners.
In
the poll for the British Council, Bean - who first appeared on TV
screens in 1990 - proved a greater global draw than Sir Winston
Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Diana, Princess of Wales, John Lennon and
Sir Paul McCartney.
