She is known for her crazy hairstyles and array of amazing wigs.
And
Lady Gaga swapped some tips with the veteran of hair raising styles at
her first Australian concert in Perth on Wednesday night - Queen
guitarist Brian May.
The
singer posted a shot of the pair to her Instagram account with the
star sporting a black curly wig looking very similar to the rockers own
do.
Curly haired friends: Lady Gaga posed
with Queen guitarist Brian May who went to her Perth show with the rest
of the veteran rock band on Wednesday
Queen is currently on tour with Adam Lambert, and the band were seen in the audience 'rocking out' to Gaga's performance.
The
star's show in Perth hit Australia in all its multi-coloured, glittery
glory and despite not managing to sell out, still impressed.
Gaga,
28, changed up her look throughout sporting blonde and green wigs as
well as some rainbow dreadlocks for some of the performance.
She
rocked a fluoro mini skirt which had a nude coloured plastic bodice,
for one song, with neon yellow and pink furry boots to accompany her
bold hairstyle.
Colourful: The singer changed up her
look throughout sporting blonde and green wigs as well as some rainbow
dreadlocks for some of the performance
Rave inspired: The audience was
bombarded with heart shaped confetti and glitter during the show while
the sets definitely had a rave theme to them
She can dance! The star busted some moves on the stage giving a high octane performance
Called artRAVE: the ARTPOP tour, the set list included tracks from her latest album, Venus and Manicure, Artpop and G.U.Y.
Ticket
sales have not been as promising as the singer may have hoped, with the
top tiers of the arena empty - however she was determined to hit back
at anyone who may have criticised her for it.
According to news.com.au,
she shouted at the audience: 'For those who didn’t come for ARTPOP or
didn’t like the album, grab a drink or a glow stick or get the f**k
out.'
Gaga
used her performance as a platform to talk about hitting back at
critics using passion to channel it into art and freedom of expression.
Space age: Lady Gaga also donned a
blonde wig for another song with a gold glittery top with what appeared
to be a clear reflective globe attached - she showed off her prowess on
the keyboard in the outfit
She responded to comments her shows were 'too gay' or new material 'too artsy' with: 'But I did it my way.'
The
production for the performance was lavish - Gaga insisted she bring all
of her stage set to Australia - instead of only 30 per cent which was
suggested as a cost cutting exercise.
The
two hour long show featured an igloo and ice landscape, as well as
heart shaped confetti, glitter and rave style lights and pumping music.
There
were also giant cartoon flowers and the singer hit the stage in an
array of outlandish outfits which featured everything from a seashell
bikini to a latex tentacle costume.
Standing ovation: The singer gave a
shout out to Queen who watched the show and as the audience applauded
she said: 'I can feel it, f****** Freddie (Mercury) is here too.'
As well as her new hits, Gaga performed some of her old classics - Just Dance, Telephone, Born This Way and Bad Romance.
She also utlised her skills on the piano for a number of tracks.
Gaga
also gave a shout out to May and the rest of the band during her
performance saying: 'I would like to point out that the rock ‘n’ roll
band Queen have come to my show.'
'I can feel it, f****** Freddie (Mercury) is here too.'
They received a standing ovation from the crowd
Lady Gaga will perform two shows in Melbourne then goes to Brisbane and Sydney.
Own sense of style: Gaga rocked some
of her crazy looks - and definitely seemed to have taken some
inspiration from Brian May with her black curly wig in this Instagram
post
Midnight smile: She also proudly showed off her black lipstick and nose ring
