Kaizer Chiefs have officially secured a third-place finish in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, guaranteeing their return to continental football through the CAF Confederation Cup. Now, all eyes are on Amakhosi management as they prepare to make major decisions regarding the club’s coaching setup.
Current coaches Cedric Kaze and Ben Youssef guided the Glamour Boys to a much-improved campaign compared to last season’s disappointing 10th-place finish. However, despite the progress, the team failed to lift any silverware this season — something supporters expect from a club of Chiefs’ stature.
Reports suggest the club may retain Kaze and Youssef within the technical team while searching for an experienced head coach. Former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Manqoba Mngqithi is currently being tipped as the leading candidate to take charge next season.
At the same time, legendary coach Pitso Mosimane continues to be linked with Amakhosi. Although no official approach has been made yet, the possibility of “Jingles” joining Chiefs remains a hot topic among fans.
On the transfer front, Orlando Pirates duo Tshegofatso Mabasa and Kabelo Dlamini are reportedly being monitored as potential signings. Mabasa, currently on loan at Stellenbosch FC, may leave Pirates permanently when his contract expires, while Dlamini could seek a move to revive his Bafana Bafana ambitions.
The coming transfer window could be a massive turning point for Kaizer Chiefs as they aim to rebuild and compete for trophies once again.
