IPOB– We are opposing a systemic injustice perpetrated against Igbos by the government and colonial powers.

On Friday, the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, stated that the goal of their battle is to eliminate endemic injustice perpetuated by the Nigerian state in conjunction with colonial powers against the innocent and peace-loving people of Biafra.

This was said by the group's media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, in a statement issued in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

"The struggle for Biafra liberation is a war against endemic injustice inflicted against the innocent and peace-loving people of Biafra by the Nigerian State in partnership with colonial forces who refuse to forgive Biafra for championing Nigerian independence in 1960," the statement stated. Because of the important roles played by Biafrans in the Nigerian independence struggle.

"IPOB has been at the forefront of this struggle for our people's emancipation, and we must succeed through the grace of God Almighty Chukwu Okike Abiama, who is in Heaven." Our goal is to stop our people's marginalization and humiliation, to restore their human dignity and hope, and to provide them with a country where they may live in peace and achieve their goals.

"We appreciate your acknowledging that the people of the East were massacred in 1966, which Nigeria has been covering up by deleting history from the Nigerian academic curriculum in basic and secondary schools since 1973. This devious deception is simply because they don't want the world to know about the atrocities they performed against Biafra's innocent citizens.

"IPOB has revealed the Nigerian state's atrocities against Biafra and brought them to the world's attention." Today, everyone is discussing the crimes committed against the people of Eastern Nigeria during the 1967-1970 war.

"Self-determination is a right of the people to agitate for freedom, not a crime." Our quest for independence is not a declaration of war, as the adversaries have misinterpreted it. We merely want to be free of oppression and enslavement; from political exclusion and economic strangulation; and from mass slaughter by people who value cows over human lives.

"Do you think the world would have remained silent if Nigeria and, in particular, Fulani terrorists had carried out crimes and unjustified attacks against Biafra in any other country in Europe or Asia?" We don't understand why the world has continued to watch the Nigerian state and non-state entities commit genocide against the innocent people of Biafra.

"They slaughter us far more when we agitate peacefully, and those who are lucky enough to be arrested alive are thrown in various hidden cells in the North and abandoned." Meanwhile, the same double-faced government is busy releasing arrested Fulani bandits and terrorists who are massacring innocent Indigenous Nigerians.

"The IPOB remains a nonviolent movement seeking independence for Biafra's enslaved people, and those who don't understand what we're doing are blackmailing us." However, the cause for Biafra's freedom is larger than any single person, including our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. It has grown into a global movement that no male born of a woman can stop. The group stated, "It's a heavenly endeavor that must be accomplished."
