Camille, an eight-year-old girl with VACTRL syndrome, has been chastised for sending a video message to Kylian Mbappe demanding that he stay with Paris Saint-Germain, prompting an emotional response from the player himself.
It was an innocent post from a young girl who is a PSG fan, but she was roundly chastised and humiliated for it on social media.
"Please stay at PSG and continue to make us dream... we adore you," Camille said.
Mbappe was made aware of the circumstances in which the girl was insulted, and he quickly moved to his own social media account to criticize the actions of a few individuals.
Mbappe wrote, "I too wish you a happy new year, my little Camille."
"Keep fighting, you're teaching us all a valuable lesson."
"The savagery of the words directed at a youngster... we've touched rock bottom, and we need to return to our senses."
