Jordan Cashmyer, who appeared on MTV's 16 and Pregnant in an episode, died at the age of 26. Maryland authorities confirmed the news to E! News. The reason of death was unknown.

Jordan's stepmother Jessica signed the note, which continues: "Our hearts are shattered. No parent should ever have to experience the loss of a child. Please remember my family in your prayers as we deal with this awful event. Please be considerate of our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by our children's love and support, as well as that of our granddaughter Lyla and other family members [sic]."
Jordan appeared on MTV's reality show 16 and Pregnant in a 2014 episode. According to Variety, her piece focused on her troubles with finding work, homelessness, and being rejected by her family because of her connection with then-boyfriend Derek Taylor.
The young mother was arrested for heroin possession in 2017, but she later battled her addiction and achieved a year of sobriety in early 2021, according to the report.
