In under 24 hours, the NICD registered 9,200 Covid-19 cases and 140 deaths in South Africa.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) in South Africa reported 9,260 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

The Western Cape had the most new cases (2,435), followed by KwaZulu-Natal (2,303) and Gauteng (2,031). (1,813)

This means that 3,513,813 cases have been confirmed to date.
The NICD also confirmed 140 more Covid-19-related deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 92,252 so far.

There have also been 361 new hospital admissions in the last day, bringing the total number of persons receiving Covid-19 medication to 8,807.
