Davido, a well-known Nigerian artist, has chastised his cousin, Dele Adeleke, for expressing his intention to run for governor of Osun State against his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Dele Adeleke, a nephew of Senator Adeleke and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) contestant, entered the Osun 2022 gubernatorial campaign in December.
Dele, a finance expert, was the Returning Officer in Osun's 2018 gubernatorial election, marshalling points to defend his uncle at both the INEC and the Tribunal to the Supreme Courts, where the ruling favored the eventual winner, incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Davido has condemned his decision to run against his uncle, 'Senator Adeleke,' on Twitter.
The musician urged inhabitants of Osun to be wary of 'Fakes,' stating that his relative had failed to build anything in life on his own.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has stated that all of its gubernatorial candidates are eminently competent to rule the state, and that all previous internal crises have been resolved.
