There are mounting calls for the Covid-19 curfew to be lifted. The hospitality industry has launched a petition urging the government to put an end to the practice before New Year's Eve.
It asserts that this undercuts efforts to rehabilitate an already weak economy.
Currently, the country is on lockdown level one, with a curfew in effect from midnight to 4 a.m.
The DA also weighs in.
According to leader John Steenhuisen, hospitalization rates have decreased and this should be taken into account.
