Balotelli reacts to Italy win

Liverpool cast-off Mario Balotelli was going through ‘real emotions’ after watching Italy knock Spain out of Euro 2016. The forward posted his feelings on Instagram after the Azzurri played their way to a tremendous 2-0 win.

Using a picture of Graziano Pelle, the Southampton striker who scored Italy’s second goal, Balotelli wrote:  

“Wow, I would have loved to be there in France but I got to say that from home as a supporter these guys are giving me real emotions. Forza Italia.
“Ps: And now let’s respect them but finish them once again [Deutschland].”

Revenge for Euro 2012 final

Italian fans will feel that victory over Spain represents revenge for their crushing defeat in the final of Euro 2012. The holders also knocked Italy out of the tournament in 2008 at the quarter-final stage.
Next they face Germany. They were shock winners in the 2012 semi-final against Jogi Low’s men with Balotelli hitting a double. He’ll be watching this rematch from home after another disastrous club season.
