Queen Latifah lent her powerful presence at the premiere screening of The Real MVP: The Wanda Durant Story in New York on Wednesday.
The star was someone to revere in that dark and billowy ensemble as she co-hosted the event with Lifetime.
Queen Latifah was clad in a long tunic over black trousers with black boots, and tinted shades gave her appearance even more mystery.
The film came about after Kevin Durant gave an emotional speech when he was awarded the NBA Most Valuable Player award in 2014.
Towards the end of that speech, he said: 'When something good happens to you, I don’t know about you guys, but I tend to look back to what brought me here. You wake me up in the middle of the night in the summer times, making me run up a hill, making me do push-ups, screaming at me from the sidelines of my games at 8 or 9 years old.'
Living legend: Queen Latifah was

He continued: 'We wasn’t supposed to be here. You made us believe. You kept us off the street. You put clothes on our backs, food on the table. When you didn’t eat, you made sure we ate. You went to sleep hungry. You sacrificed for us. You the real MVP.'
Now people can watch the real story in the upcoming movie directed by Nelson George.
The movie was executive produced by Queen Latifah and her Flavor Unit team.
The film follows Kevin's career with The Oklahoma City Thunder and his single mom who struggled to raise him and her other son Tony.

When he was named 2014’s NBA Most Valuable Player, Kevin Durant dedicated his speech to his mum, naming her 'the real MVP' for all of her sacrifices that allowed him to pursue his dreams.
It was a truly moving and heartfelt moment.
In the feature film Daniel Bellomy plays Kevin Durant whilst Cassandra Freeman plays Wanda Durant. Romuald Hivert, Nathan Mitchell and Tracie Thoms are a few of the other cast members.
