But Beyoncé and Jay Z threw caution to the wind earlier this week when they shared a kiss in public.
Jay Z surprised his wife on stage when she was performing in Philadelphia as part of her Mrs Carter World Tour.

The rapper snuck up behind Beyoncé and then threw his arms around her and gave her a sweet smooch.

The singer’s face was a picture and had a look of sheer bewilderment as she appeared completely confused at what had just happened.

The crowd and Beyoncé’s dancers all roared with delight at being there to witness the rare PDA.

But the 31-year-old was left blushing at the surprise liplock, which happened at the end of her concert.

The Love On Top hit-maker then shared some snapshots of the tender moment on her Tumblr.

The star has been giving her fans various glimpses into her life on tour, including backstage photos and oddly, pictures in which she sports a batman mask.

Meanwhile a spokeswoman for the star has dismissed reports her next album has been delayed because she lacks direction.

It came after a report in The Hollywood Reporter claimed that Beyoncé had shelved more than 50 tracks after deciding she was unhappy with the album's direction.

She had been recording the tracks while on tour but is said to have failed to establish a theme for the work, leading to anxiety for her label Columbia.

'Beyoncé has had some of the biggest hits of our format, and we're ready for the next, Tom Poleman, president of national programming at Clear Channel, told THR.

But her representative insisted that Beyoncé had never given a release date for the album and was not behind schedule.

Beyoncé’s last album, 4, was released in 2011 and was her lowest selling to date, shifting 1.4million copies.
