Beckham! Neymar takes cheeky swipe... then admits he shaves his legs

Neymar has taken a cheeky swipe at David Beckham by claiming that while he may like to take care of his appearance, the former England captain was in a whole different league.
The Brazilian superstar is one of the most recognisable faces in football thanks to his hair and extravagant jewellery off the field.
He has also developed quite the reputation for his lavish lifestyle, and the status he enjoys in South America bears striking similarities to Beckham in his heyday.

But far from reveling in the comparisons, Neymar says that the former Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, PSG and LA Galaxy man is more vain.

'Yes, it is true that I like to go out and buy new clothes, nice perfumes and hair products. I also shave my legs for example,' Neymar told Surface.

'I do not see myself as a metrosexual, though. That was more something for Beckham, who was more stylish. I might be a bit pretentious, but I don't see that as a problem.'

Neymar, whose talent on the pitch earned him a £50million move to Barcelona this summer, has also had to deal with accusations of diving and playacting throughout his career at Santos.

But the 21-year-old has defended himself, citing the need to take drastic action as a means of protection.

He added: 'I occasionally jump and dive, but only to protect myself. I want to make sure that defenders cannot injure me.'
