Bright Okpocha, or Basketmouth, a well-known comedian, has explained why he plans to stop performing.
remembers that the multi-talented entertainer announced his plan to leave the crib-cracking business in a few years last year.
In a recent appearance on the Nedu-hosted Honest Bunch podcast, comedian Basketmouth stated his desire to leave comedy in order to pursue his vision of founding his own business.
"When I started my career in rap, I started with," he declared. I then began to play the drums. Drums are the source of music's little improvements. It was 1995 when I made my first piece of music.
"At that point, I attempted to combine hip-hop and afrobeats. But we cannot work because we lack knowledge. But we made an effort.
"When I found out I perform comedy, I say by accident. Since comedy just exists, I don't plan comedy. But after I've examined everything, I tell Bright, "Okay, you need to start planning how you want to do this thing [the comedy]."
"My goal is to create my own industry. I'm not really a part of the industry. Because of this, if you've noticed over time, I don't watch sitcoms. I avoid watching movies. I'm currently producing a movie. I don't attend concerts. I perform at comic events. I observe that I don't touch anywhere. I don't release music.
Basketmouth claimed that he stopped performing stand-up comedy and event emceeing six years ago, although few people were aware of it.
