Harry risks retaliation

PRINCE Charles has been drawn into a squabble over Prince Harry's legal bid to pay for police protection in the United Kingdom, and royal fans are outraged.

Royal supporters are outraged by Prince Harry's legal quest to pay for police protection in the United Kingdom. The Duke of Sussex says he can't bring his family back to the UK because it's too unsafe without police protection, and he's filed a judicial review request against the Home Office's refusal to let him pay for his own security while in the country. Omid Scobie, a royal author, rushed to Twitter to point out a 2002 allegation that Prince Charles paid for two full-time security guards for Camilla.

Mr Scobie stated, " "THROWBACK: In May 2002, The @Guardian published a report suggesting that Prince Charles had privately paid for two full-time police security officers for Camilla Parker Bowles, his then-longtime mistress. It is a 'private situation,' according to a Palace official."

The security was identified as police in Mr Scobie's post, but the Guardian piece does not specify whether they were serving officers.

Mr Scobie's message was responded to by Twitter user Royal Tea, who defines themselves as an American PR guru in their bio: "REMINISTER: When the Sussexes left, Charles paid them MILLIONS of dollars. Also, in 2002, Camilla was referred to as Charles' "then-long term mistress." They'd both been divorced for years and had been publicly dating for a long time. Because of this type of BS, she required security."

The tweet refers to the "significant payment" that Harry and Meghan are supposed to have received from Charles after relinquishing their jobs as working royals until summer 2020, according to Clarence House.
