Philippe Coutinho's transfer target has been reduced to two Premier League clubs. Up to six Premier League clubs in England had expressed an interest in signing the Barcelona playmaker.
Only two teams remain, according to Sky Sports, as a decision on Coutinho's future will be made by Friday.
Aston Villa is thought to be one of the clubs still interested in signing Coutinho.
Coutinho, 29, was a teammate of Villa manager Steven Gerrard at Liverpool, with Gerrard describing Coutinho as a "serial winner" in a press conference on Thursday.
Arsenal, Everton, and Newcastle United have all been linked with a move for the former Liverpool midfielder.
