Arsenal fan DT speaks out about his jail sentence, saying "there are two sides to every story."

After his prison term was extended this week, Arsenal Fan TV star Liam Goodenough, often known as DT, delivered a statement. Goodenough was convicted of kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and stalking causing significant alarm or distress after pleading guilty on 5 November 2021 at Aylesbury Crown Court following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.

Charges of controlling or coercive behavior in an intimate or family connection, as well as exposing a private sexual photograph with the aim to cause harm, were also filed.

Goodenough was first sentenced to a 12-month prison sentence and a ten-year restraining order.

However, after his case was brought to the Court of Appeal by Solicitor General Alex Chalk QC MP to be reviewed under the overly lenient sentence procedure, Goodenough's sentence was increased to three years.

Since the channel's inception in 2014, the 42-year-old has been a regular contributor to AFTV.

And now, with a post on Twitter, Goodenough has broken his silence: "I'm sure many of you saw the news about me this week, and I'm sorry if I disappointed you, but there are always two sides to a story, and mine will be told in due time.

"I now know I was having a mental breakdown after months of seeking help and advice, and that night I simply snapped.

"This is not meant to justify my conduct; rather, it is an attempt to depict what was going on in my life at the time. All I ask is that you read the important parts of the report rather than the sensationalized headline.

"I owe my ex-partner an enormous apology for putting her through this. An eight-year relationship will now be remembered for nine minutes of craziness, for which I will be eternally sorry.

"My children are the innocent ones in this, and I want everyone to remember that. I keep in touch with them on a regular basis, but my actions have flipped their lives upside down. All I can do now is make the best of my time and become a better father and guy as a result.

"I've also heard of a statement that was released by someone I referred to as a buddy; I'll address this and its content in due time!

"I'm sorry for disappointing you all; I don't deserve anything, but please accept my apologies.

"Take care, and we'll talk again in a few years.

"DT."

Following Arsenal's 2-1 loss to defending Premier League winners Manchester City on New Year's Day, Goodenough was last seen on AFTV.

However, after Goodenough's extended term was confirmed, the channel issued a statement stating that Goodenough would no longer be contributing to the channel.
