His frustration with the Blues' performance in December has reached a boiling point. After a late Danny Welbeck equalize consigned Chelsea to a devastating 1-1 draw with Brighton on Wednesday, Thomas Tuchel fumed that everything is against Chelsea.
Christian Pulisic's second-half penalty plea went unanswered by VAR, which enraged Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea's emotions were further dampened by injuries to defenders Reece James and Andreas Christensen.
Tuchel to Amazon: "The referee made a bad call for a 2-0 score. It wasn't checked. It's a losing battle We've got two more."
No VAR interference, Tuchel told reporters. "The penalty is a joke, honestly a laugh."
"Simply put, we have too many players returning from long-term injuries. Reece James' injury was a major setback. With nothing to lose, Andreas was one of the game's best players."
In response to the question, Tuchel said: "What role do we play? There are 7 Covids. Five or six players are out for six weeks or longer. What should we do in a title fight?
"This league is open to anyone who has a full squad and is training. The idea of doing it with Covid and injuries is ridiculous.
"This is reality, and we must adjust to the circumstances. That's it. We battled hard to win at home against Brighton. Physique, intensity, and minutes are unknowns for my players. No one knows since we've never done it."
This season, Chelsea has slipped 11 points from the top of the Premier League after Brighton's first-ever goal at Stamford Bridge (10).
In addition to James and Christensen, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva make up a defensive corps considered to be one of Europe's best this year. Tuchel claims James has hamstring issues and Christensen has back issues.
In second position, Chelsea must face Liverpool this weekend.
