Mmusi Maimane, a leader of the South African movement, has urged President Cyril Ramaphosa to shift his cabinet beyond the ANC.

Ramaphosa indicated last week that a cabinet overhaul was "under contemplation" and that he was still "putting" his thoughts to the issue.

In an interview with Newsroom Afrika, Maimane said it would be ideal for Ramaphosa to explore the composition of his government outside parliament.

“I don't believe the president should limit his search to the chambers of parliament. He is invited to look around outside of parliament,” Maimane remarked.

It would be good at this stage to bring in health portfolio specialists who can oversee the immunization process.

Ramaphosa, according to Maimane, should go beyond the ANC if he wants to turn South Africa's prospects around.
