Current Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri is set to leave in the summer after completing what would be a fifth straight Serie A success.
Chelsea have made French legend Zidane their top target to succeed under-fire Maurizio Sarri.
But Juve also want their ex-midfield maestro and Zidane has never hidden his affection for the club known as ‘The Old Lady’.
And it means Chelsea could miss out on their managerial target unless they get Zidane signed up now.
The heat on Sarri has cooled for a while after the victory over Spurs which followed his decision to axe Wembley rebel keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Wednesday’s 2-0 win eased tensions and put Chelsea back in the hunt for a top-four spot.
But Allegri’s decision on his Juve future will have a huge knock-on effect for the Blues, as it is believed in Italy Zidane would prefer to take the job back at his old club.
Allegri has always claimed three years is as long as he would want at any club. The former Milan boss still has children at school in Turin but is said to have become frustrated by expectations at the club.
One friend said: “Max is about to win Serie A for the fifth time but all he hears is that he should be doing better in the Champions League. He feels it might be time for a change.”
