JOHANNESBURG - The ANC says it still wants former Home Affairs Minister, Malusi Gigaba to “play an integral role in the party.”
Gigaba resigned on Tuesday and President Cyril Ramaphosa accepted his resignation.
He maintained that his resignation was not an admission of guilt.
“I did so after a long period of sustained and vitriolic public attacks on my integrity. I wish to state that my resignation is not an admission of guilt on my part,” he said in his resignation letter.
ANC spokesperson, Pule Mabe denied that Ramaphosa convinced Gigaba to resign.
Gigaba will remain a Member of Parliament and a member of the ANC's National Executive Committee.
