Mark Langhorne and Matt Richard’s book 83 Minutes recounts the music icon’s last hours before he was pronounced dead on June 25, 2009.
In an excerpt obtained by People magazine , the singer was given 25mg of powerful painkiller Propofol at 10:40am.
Murray is said to have attempted to get help from Michael’s assistant and a call was made to 911 at 12:21pm.
Murray and the assistant, Alberto Alvarez, tried to resuscitate him.
As attempts were made to save his life, Paris and Prince Jackson were both present
Prince was reportedly standing in the doorway “gently weeping with a look of shock on his face at seeing his father stricken on the floor”.
While “Paris crumpled to her knees instantly, screaming ‘Daddy’ and beginning to cry hysterically,” the book recounts.
The authors write that the doctor tried to get the children out of the room while shouting, “Don’t let them see their dad like this,” as the singer lay lifeless on the bed.
Eventually a nanny took them away and later on, at UCLA hospital, their dad was pronounced dead.
