Christopher Reid, boss of Security Search Management & Solutions Ltd (SSM), the company that misplaced a package which forced Manchester United’s game against Bournemouth to be called off, has admitted that the blunder could affect his business.

United have blamed the compnay for leaving a fake bomb training prop within the stadium, after they carried out safety drills last week.

Reid has apologized for the error, but was also fearful for the future of his company.

“There’s a lot I want to say to the fans, but I don’t want to do that now. I’ve actually spoken to a couple of people who were there and they said don’t worry about it, everybody was fine.

“I said as long as no one was injured, and I’m really sorry they had to miss their game.

The game has already been rescheduled for Tuesday. A win or draw for United, will see them qualify automatically for the Europa League.
