He may have been involved in a few handbags on the pitch in his time… but they were of a different type.
Now Leicester City star Jamie Vardy is being used to sell handbags – in Thailand.
The Foxes top scorer this season has taken the Premier League by storm thanks to his record-breaking goalscoring antics, and his image has now gone global thanks to this slightly strange marketing campaign.
The England hitman has been mocked up carrying a handbag in the duty-free section of Thai airports, with the club’s sponsors King Power responsible for the cardboard cutouts.
Main sponsors King Power are Thailand’s leading duty-free group, so it’s no surprise that they’ve used their rights as commercial sponsors to splash the faces of Foxes stars all over the place, with Shinji Okazaki also being used to advertise perfumes in their stores.
