Eddie Murphy has eight children to his credit already but it seems that number nine is still the charm.
The
55-year-old Beverly Hills Cop star was quite the protective guy as he
and his very pregnant girlfriend Paige Butcher, 36, hit up their
favorite coffeehouse in Los Angeles' Studio City on Wednesday.
Eddie
kept his clutches on Paige as the two stepped up to order their usual
drinks at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and when they emerged the star
was holding her hand.

The Australian model's blossoming bump couldn't be contained, not even in that billowy maternity top.
Paige
added comfortable black leggings and a pair of black flip flops while
her blonde hair was gathered up in a tiny bun on the top of her head.
She seemed quite pleased with Eddie too, smiling from behind her black-framed, tinted shades

In November, Eddie and Paige announced that they were indeed expecting their first child together.

have been dating four years, but have known each other longer after
meeting on the set of Big Momma's House 2 in 2006.
This
will be Paige's first child and Eddie's ninth as he already has eight
children, aged eight years old to 26, from four previous relationships.
The
48 Hours star has five children with his former wife of 12 years,
Nicole Mitchell, and one child each with former flames Mel B, Tamara
Hood Johnson, and Paulette McNeely.
Meanwhile, Eddie has some other projects on the front burner.
He's expected to reprise his role as Axel Foley for director Brett Ratner in Beverly Hills Cop 4.
Eddie also has the drama Mr. Church coming to Tribeca Film Festival on April 22.
What
he likes to do most of the time is hang out at home at Paige and his
other kids when they visit, and work on new songs in his recording
studio. It's given him the reputation as a kind of recluse.
'You know why they think I’m reclusive?' I don’t do the Hollywood stuff. I’ve never been on the circuit,' Eddie told The Washington Post in October of last year.
