After being Ushered into the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg by Tswana traditional dancers, American comedian Kevin Hart could not resist taking selfies and videos and posting them on social platform Snapchat.

The star of Ride Along 2 flew to Rustenburg from Midrand's Grand Central with his team and fiancée Eniko Parrish in four helicopters.

Hart, who is in the country for his What Now World Tour, insisted on being called by his new African name Mpho (Gift) given to him at the Bafokeng Royal Palace.

The comedian said he was very humbled at being given the name Mpho because he has the gift of making people laugh.

He spent some time playing with aspiring basketball players during an event organised by the Junior NBA aimed at encouraging young people to be active.

After being beaten by 17-year-old Omphemetse Ramagoma of Phokeng, Hart asked the youngster to autograph the ball they had been playing with.

"I couldn't believe that he asked me to sign the ball; my hands were shaking," said Ramagoma.

Hart, an avid runner, said he has not been able to do his 5km Nike community run in South Africa but promised to come back to do it.

"We didn't get to do it this time because I was really pressed for time. I will be back in about three months to do it. I will also do my first-ever 10km run in South Africa," he promised.

Hart finished off his What Now World Tour with a performance at The Ticketpro Dome this week.
