There was a little extra drama on the set of Will Smith's new movie Collateral Beauty currently lensing in New York.
While
the Big Willie rapper was rehearsing a scene with co-star Naomie Harris
on a Brooklyn street Wednesday night, an elderly man who was serving as
one of the extras for the scene suffered some collateral damage.
The
gentleman was crossing a street near to where the filming was taking
place when, according to onlookers, he slipped and fell, injuring his
head.
Medical emergency: An elderly
gentleman was seen being escorted by paramedics called to the location
set of Will Smith's new movie Collateral Beauty after falling on the wet
and icy New York street and hurting his head
Ouch: The man, believed to be an extra
hired by the production, was seen with a nasty gash above his right eye
and bloody grazes on his cheek and lip
Filming: The accident happened as Will
and co-star Naomie Harries were rehearsing a nighttime scene for the
movie Collateral Beauty that's being shot on location in a Brooklyn
neighborhood
Paramedics
were called and the unidentified senior citizen was seen being escorted
to an ambulance with a big bandage around his temple.
It's reported he was taken to the hospital and the extent of his injuries is not known.
It's not known if Will or Naomie were aware of the incident.
In any
case, the Independence Day star carried on with shooting his scenes, and
seemed upbeat as he also greeted watching fans and signed autographs.
Patched him up: Paramedics with the
New York Fire Department responded to the scene and were seen escorting
the man to a waiting ambulance
Treated at the scene: The elderly
gentleman was seen holding an ice pack to his injured right temple after
having a large bandage wrapped around his injured head
Location set: Onlookers said the wintry streets were wet and slippy and may have contributed to what happened
Carrying on: It's not known if Will and Naomie were aware of what had happened or were informed of the incident
Giving direction: The film's director David Frankel was seen discussing the night's shoot with his stars
The film tells the story of an advertising executive who falls into a spiral of depression following a personal tragedy .
His employees rally to devise a plan to pull him back, and it works - but not in a way that anybody expected.
Collateral Beauty's impressive cast also includes Kate Winslet, Edward Norton, Jonah Hill, Michael Pena and Keira Knightley.
It's being directed by David Frankel, who directed The Devil Wears Prada,and is scheduled for release on December 16.
