The 34-year-old tennis pro's famous legs were heavily Photoshopped to look slimmer on the sporty mag's cover, which was unveiled Monday.

'I wanted to capture the real Serena,' photographer Yu Tsai (and America's Next Top Model alum) claimed in the behind-the-scenes video.

And just last month, Annie Leibovitz shot the four-time Olympic gold medalist in all her un-retouched, topless glory for the 2016 Pirelli Calendar.

Williams made sure to showcase her athletic 5ft9in figure as she strutted outside Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers.

Serena's lingerie-style frock featured a lace slip beneath a matching black chiffon maxi-skirt, which was open in the front.

'When I first learned that I would be Sportsperson, yes Sportsperson of the Year, I could not believe it,' Williams told the crowd.

'It had been over 30 years since the last time SI had recognised a woman for being Sportsperson of the Year. I think it was [track star] Mary Decker, to be exact. So for all the ladies out there, "Yes we can do it!"

The Michigan-born champion continued: 'My hope by winning this award [is that it] can inspire many, many, many more women - in less than 30 years, of course - to stand right here on this podium and accept another Sportsperson of the Year.'

Also sweetly supporting the Wimbledon diva onstage were her mother Oracene Price and older sisters Venus Williams and Lyndrea Price.

'It's been an honour to be your sister. It's the best job in the world,' gushed Venus, who introduced her sibling. 'And your wins are my wins. Every single one.'

The 35-year-old tennis pro even dressed her 6ft1in statuesque figure in a lace creation from Serena's HSN clothing line.

The 47-year-old actor took a backstage selfie with the SI SportsKid of the Year, 15-year-old Reece Whitley. 

The 6ft8in swimmer towered over fellow winners SI High School Athlete of the Year Hunter Gandee (with brother Braden Gandee) and SI Muhammad Ali Legacy winner Jack Nicklaus.

Victoria's Secret Angel Chanel Iman donned a golden jumpsuit while SI swimsuit stunner Heidy De La Rosa opted for a grey turtleneck frock.
