The 34-year-old tennis pro's famous legs were heavily Photoshopped to look slimmer on the sporty mag's cover, which was unveiled Monday.

wanted to capture the real Serena,' photographer Yu Tsai (and America's
Next Top Model alum) claimed in the behind-the-scenes video.

I first learned that I would be Sportsperson, yes Sportsperson of the
Year, I could not believe it,' Williams told the crowd.
'It
had been over 30 years since the last time SI had recognised a woman
for being Sportsperson of the Year. I think it was [track star] Mary
Decker, to be exact. So for all the ladies out there, "Yes we can do
it!"

'It's
been an honour to be your sister. It's the best job in the world,'
gushed Venus, who introduced her sibling. 'And your wins are my wins.
