It might be a
while until the festival season kicks off, but some superstar acts are
already being confirmed for the summer's biggest events.
Nicki
Minaj has just been revealed as the headliner for Wireless Festival,
marking her welcome return: she last played at the annual event back in
2012.
The
booty-popping rapper is set to take the stage alongside fellow
headliners Drake and Avicii, as well as other acts Kendrick Lamar and
David Guetta at London's three-day musical extravaganza.
Revealed: The line-up for Wireless
Festival 2015 has been announced, with Nicki Minaj, Drake, Kendrick
Lamar, David Guetta and Avicii confirmed to headline what is one of the
year's most anticipated music events
An
insider said of the Anaconda hitmaker's turn at the festival: 'Nicki is
going to be the main attraction this year. It's a real coup as, at the
moment, it is her only UK festival appearance.
'The organisers are hoping she does something really sexy on stage for her British fans.'
They
went on: 'It's great that Drake is coming back after pulling-out last
minute in 2014, while Avicii will bring the dance vibe and hopefully
drop some of the tracks he has recorded with Madonna.'
Bringing sexy to London? Wireless
organisers are hoping the Anaconda hitmaker can bring her own brand of
sexiness to the music event
Drake had to
pull out of headlining last year due to illness, leaving revellers in
the capital to a double-dose of Kanye West instead.
At
the time, the Canadian musician, due to play gigs in both London and
Birmingham, said he had to drop out because he 'got sick' and doctors
said he was not 'physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my
fans expect'.
Wireless
Festival will return to Finsbury Park for the second year running, and
this will mark its 10th year as one of the top summer music events.

event due to illness in 2014
Return of the DJ: David Guetta is also set to return, after performing at the popular festival on previous occasions
However, unlike in 2014 it will not be jointly held at Perry Park in Birmingham, instead just staying in London like it used to.
Wireless
Festival - which was headlined by Kanye and Bruno Mars last year, and
has also seen the prestigious likes of Rihanna, The Black Eyed Peas,
Daft Punk and Jay-Z perform - will be held between Friday July 3 and
Sunday July 5.
Thus
far, the like of Jessie J, Clean Bandit, Knife Party, Duke Dumont and
Gorgon City have also been revealed as some of this year's acts, with
others to be confirmed in the coming months.
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday.
