Rihanna flew into Los Angeles in an unflattering, baggy, grey hoodie dress from DKNY on Friday

She's well known for showing off her beautiful body.

But Rihanna was completely covered up in a shapeless grey hoodie dress from DKNY as she jetted into Los Angeles on Friday.

The superstar singer paired the baggy, ankle-length garment with quirky black and white platform-soled sneakers as she walked across the concourse, pursued by fans hoping for an autograph.

The 26-year-old covered her eyes with very dark glasses and brightened up her dull outfit with a bright pop of red lipstick that matched her nails.

Her long dark hair, still sporting extensions, was smoothed down close to her head and pulled back into a low ponytail.

RiRi was returning from the East Coast where she took part in a number of events including performing at the Concert For Valor: Saluting America's Veterans on an outdoor stage set up in the National Mall in Washington, DC on Tuesday.

The Bajan songstress positively lit it up in her shimmering black ensemble as she belted out hits including Stay and, rather aptly, Diamonds.

She proved to be one of biggest hits of the star-studded event, which included Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Dave Grohl and Metallica, among others, and was broadcast live on HBO.

The following day the businesswoman went to Virginia, where she visited a military base to promote her new fragrance, Rogue Man. 

On Thursday evening she was back in New York on a solo trip for dinner in the Soho neighbourhood the night before her flight.

RiRi showed off her toned abs in a slim-fit black and white Dimepiece tracksuit that left a big gap between the trousers and the cropped top.  

The singer is looking forward to the release of her new record, which is rumoured to be called Lost Files, but won't announce the date, though she has hinted it will be previewed one track at a time.

She said: 'I can't give you any hints of when it will drop. It's going to be great, that's all I'm going to tell you and I'm excited about it.'
