He's the man with the golden kicks, but the big question is...why didn't he wear them?
Smooth superstar Usher, 35, stepped out in New York City on Friday in various states of dress.
But despite being famously in possession of some amazing all-gold Air Jordans, he went in another fashion direction.
Smooth superstar Usher, 35, stepped out in New York City on Friday but didn't put on his famous golden Air Jordans
At one point in the day, he donned a pristine pair of white trainers, and later on he was in the mood for black high-tops.
What's more perplexing is that the superstar was definitely in a golden mood earlier in the day.
He
bopped around Manhattan in a casual golden zipper hoodie... and even
his watch was gilded with the precious metal. It would have been a
perfect match.
Golden opportunity: The blinged-out shoes would have been a perfect match for his zipper hoodie
A
close-up view of the bonkers shoes shows how cool they really are: from
the laces to the slick fabric, everything looks top-tier.
So
maybe it was because he only wears them on stage. Or maybe he doens't
want to get them dirty. Either way, he missed a, well, golden
opportunity to show off his famous footwear on Friday.
These are the same awesome shoes that he wore during the recent iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.
Wardrobe change: Late Friday, Usher took off the gold and chose a black ensemble for his evening activities
And maybe most famously, he was seen sporting the metallic fashion statement during a recent Honey Nut Cheerios commercial.
Usher is on a tight list of celebs who get the shoes. And he's gone one further: he's also got a pair of zinc Air Jordans
Earlier this year, the singing superstar brought the sneakers to the Today Show, where he posed with several Olympians.
The megasuccessful, multi-talented performer is known to have an amazing shoe collection.
Decked out: The golden Air Jordans only go to a lucky and specific group of superstars
Golden group: Earlier this year, Usher showed up on the Today Show with several U.S. Olympic athletes
