There's nothing like a wild Wednesday night at the office.
Rihanna
took her mid-week night session in a New York City studio in her
stride, decking herself out in a relatively conservative all-black
ensemble.
The 26-year-old Diamonds songstress looked slightly forlorn as she strode through the Big Apple to get to work.
Studio chic: Rihanna was seen striding
in to record some music in New York City on Wednesday night wearing all
black and looking either calm or forlorn about the situation
The pretty pop star wore snug looking black skinny jeans teamed with a matching black singlet top.
She
showed off her bare neck, which is normally filled with an array of
jewels but on this occasion was laden with only one basic necklace.
Rihanna
wore minimal rings on her fingers and carried a chic black handbag as
she strode along the footpath at night with a black leather jacket slung
over her shoulders.
The Stay songstress topped and tailed her outfit with army green, adding heavy lace-up boots and a matching green cap.
Simple work style: The 26-year-old Diamonds singer was wearing significantly less jewelery than usual
Her
cropped tresses were pulled back into a ponytail and she wore minimal
makeup for what was surely to be a music production session.
It was a solo evening for the songstress, with her boyfriend Drake presumably entertaining himself elsewhere.
Meanwhile,
CBS President Les Moonves who had nothing but 'respect' for Rihanna
despite the backlash he received from the singer after he pulled the
plug on a segment featuring Run This Town - her song with Jay-Z - during
an NBA broadcast.
'We're sorry she's not on the show but that was her call,' the 64-year-old television executive told TMZ.
Working hard: Rihanna recently finished her Monster tour with Eminem and looks to be back to making music
Shining bright: Rihanna at the CFDA Fashion Awards in June this year
With
the Ray Rice scandal making headlines, CBS opted not to air a taped
musical segment featuring the 2009 hit - presumably due to Rihanna being
a victim of domestic violence - during the opening of Thursday Night
Football two weeks ago.
But when CBS decided to run the segment a week later, Rihanna took to Twitter to blast the network.
She
wrote: 'CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back
in this Thursday? NO, F*** you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for
this.'
Feeling focused? Rihanna had her eyes on the path ahead and seemingly her brain in the game
CBS followed up by releasing a statement saying they would not use Rihanna's performance going forward.
'Beginning this Thursday, we will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our Thursday Night Football open.
'We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast.'
Expressing her sentiments: Rihanna let rip on CBS on Twitter earlier this month after they failed to air her song
