Kanye West was forced to head out shopping without his wife Kim Kardashian in Sydney on Friday, and the rapper didn't look very happy about it

He enjoyed plenty of retail therapy with his partner-in-crime when they visited Australia's shopping capital, Melbourne.

But Kanye West was forced to go solo on Friday afternoon as his wife Kim Kardashian was wrapped up doing press at their luxurious Sydney hotel, leaving the Yeezus star to head out into the city alone.

The 37-year-old looked downcast without his wife of several months, walking along Castlereagh Street near the Westfield Sydney shopping centre.

Going solo: While Kim was tied up doing press inside a suite at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Kanye was seen walking the streets alone before ducking into a couple of stores

The Black Skinhead singer, who is performing on Friday and Saturday night in Sydney, meandered through the city in a hoodie, his trademark shiny black pants and a pair of brown boots.

The father-of-one could not manage a smile as he wandered the streets before heading into a store.

The outing comes after Kanye was reportedly rushed to hospital on Wednesday just hours before he performed his final Melbourne concert.

The Yeezus star was allegedly taken to Epworth hospital in Richmond where he was given an emergency MRI at around 2pm in the afternoon, according to Woman's Day.

A woman by the name of Loraine Kelly, who accompanied her daughter while she was having her own MRI scan, told the magazine that the Black Skinhead singer had his face partially concealed when he was ushered through the back entrance of the facility by his security team before being stretchered in to the MRI area.

Missing Kim? The Yeezus singer seemed to be at a loose end without his wife, making his away along Castlereagh Street before heading into the Westfield Sydney shopping centre.

Ms Kelly told Woman's Day that doctors had fears that the rapper had had a seizure or was about to have a seizure.

'Everyone was massively panicked,' the onlooker told the magazine.

'Everyone was moved out of the waiting and consulting rooms.'

Ms Kelly said one of Kanye's security team had her daughter ejected from the room before her scan had been completed.

However, a source told E! Online that Kanye only attended hospital as a precaution.

'[Kanye is] fine and didn’t have a major health scare or seizure,' a source told the network.

'He just suffered a migraine and went to the hospital simply as a precaution.'

Despite the alleged health scare the Yeezus rapper, who had been playing basketball earlier that day, reportedly left hospital around 4.30pm before appearing on stage at Rod Laver Arena to perform that night.

Daily Mail Australia reached out for a comment from the rapper and Epworth hospital.

Kanye and his famous wife's hospital dash created dramatic scenes on Melbourne's roads, an eyewitness told Daily Mail Australia.

'Kim and Kanye were in one car, and a second car with their security team drove behind but slowed down to block any paparazzi or fans from following them,' the eyewitness said.

'Their car was able to get away so that they were not followed to the hospital.'

It was a similarly hectic scene when the car returned to their hotel around 5pm.

'Fans tried to run into the underground car park, but the security team began screaming at them to get out.

Just hours after he was reportedly rushed to hospital for the emergency MRI scan, Kanye took to the stage in Melbourne with an existential message for his audience.

'If you love somebody tonight hold on real tight,' the father-of-one sang over and over to the music of his hit Runaway as his wife Kim watched on from the midst of the audience at the Rod Laver Arena. 

'If you never take the time to tell somebody that you love them, tell them right now,' he went on before singing what sounded like 'before I die'.

The rapper was clearly thinking about his new wife and 15-month-old daughter as he ad libbed the lyrics while looking in Kim's direction after the shock brain scan.

He also spoke of a time after him when people would wish he was still around to hear his words.

'These times when I would talk in the middle of my shows and people would be like "there's something wrong" they would just wish that they just went on,' he said.

'Just a moment to soak in, a moment of truth to say I saw it, I was there and I saw it in real life... Because what's real and what's fake anyway?'

The next morning Kanye and his young family looked fresh-faced as they touched down in Sydney.

Kim stepped off the plane in a business-like outfit of a white shirt and black pencil skirt, meanwhile Kanye disembarked with his adorable one-year-old daughter in his arms.

The super-famous couple were whisked away to the Park Hyatt Hotel, where they were seen on the balcony taking in the iconic view of Sydney Harbour.

The couple opted to stay in on Thursday night with their daughter North, one.
