Kim Kardashian greeted Jennifer Lopez on Sunday at the MTV VMAs in Los Angeles

She may not be up for a Moonman, but Kim Kardashian is certainly the queen among presenters.

The 33-year-old arrived to the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday dressed to impress for her third time presenting at the awards show. 

The reality star, however, did meet another woman with a famous derrière - Jennifer Lopez - after posing for photos on the red carpet.

Kim gave the singer and actress a warm hug after exchanging a few words. J-Lo was adorned in a metallic cut-out dress, that showed off more than a little skin.

Meanwhile, Kim's multi-patterned gown featured a plunging neckline as she stood tall in intricately woven stilettos.

The mother-of-one looked ready for her big night as her hair fell in sexy tangles over shoulders.

Later that night Kim did take the stage, and had a commanding presence over the crowd as she said: 'Sometimes you hear a voice and know it's special. The next performer has one of those voices. Artists to watch nominee, my friend, Sam Smith. He's on piano.'

As Smith performed Stay With Me, Kim and her sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner could be seen singing along in the audience.

The reality star's husband Kanye West is a nominee in the Best Hip-Hop Video category for Black Skinhead, but the music video for Bound 2, which Kim is featured in, was snubbed.

Kim previously handed out gongs in 2010 and 2011, where she awarded Justin Bieber for Best Male Video.

Kim's star power has been increasing over the years, getting a significant boost from her relationship with hip hop royalty Kanye.

But while Kim is entrusted with handing out Moonman gongs, her husband does not have the best reputation at awards ceremonies.

In 2009, the 37-year-old rapper interrupted Taylor Swift as she accepted the award for Best Female Video.

Kanye took the microphone from the then teenage country star and declared her unworthy of the honour in light of her competition.

And in 2007, the Yeezus rapper delivered yet another of his now infamous rants at the VMAS in Las Vegas.

But that's not all as the star walked out of the 2004 American Music Awards, saying he was 'robbed' in the Best New Artist category.
