The Manchester United striker, 28, is worth a whopping £45million, according to the poll by Wealth-X.
Despite hinting several times he wants a move away from Old Trafford, the hitman is pocketing more than any of his fellow countrymen.
ROLLING IN IT: Ferdinand has amassed a fortune
The former Everton star rakes in around £250,000 a week in wages and
also trousers a fortune through deals with Nike and book publisher
HarperCollins.
Second on the list is Rooney’s Red Devils team-mate Rio Ferdinand, 35, who has enjoyed a long career that has seen him twice break the transfer record.
