He has already played the role of a wizard in the hugely successful Harry Potter franchise, so it's not such a leap for British actor Daniel Radcliffe to play the part of a clown.
The 24 year-old, from west London, appears in his outlandish costume as part of a forthcoming episode of TV drama A Young Doctor's Notebook.
The series, which also stars Mad Men's Jon Hamm, is broadcast as part of Sky Arts's Playhouse Presents strand and sees Radcliffe embrace an increasingly diverse repertoire.

Based on Mikhail Bulgakov's collection of short stories A Country Doctor's Notebook, the series follows a recently-graduated young medic (Radcliffe) who is forced to say farewell to life in bustling Moscow to take up a post as a doctor in a small, remote hospital a thousand miles from the capital, and half a day's journey from the nearest shop.
In the latest episode, due to air later this month, the star is seen in a fantasy scene dressed in the Pierrot costume in a bid to woo his new love Natasha, played by Margaret Clunie.
Wearing a cone-shaped hat and traditional clown attire, including a ruffle neck collar and pantaloons, the actor looks incredibly convincing.

But fans of the The Woman In Black actor will be used to seeing him undertake a metamorphosis for his myriad roles.
Earlier this month he was seen on the set of Frankenstein, dressed up in the 19th century clothing of the scientist's assistant Igor.
His hair greasy and long, with a five o'clock shadow and dark eyes, Daniel certainly looked the part of the hunchbacked aide.

But he walked tall in between scenes as no doubt carrying out the deformed stance of Igor would be tiring on the back, and enjoyed a can of Diet Coke while still in costume.
No stranger to the horror genre, in 2012 the young actor starred in The Woman In Black, the classic ghost story of the stage brought to the big screen.
He played the lead Arthur Kipps, tormented by the death of his wife and confronted by a vengeful spirit when he moves to the village of Cryphin Gifford.

Daniel's next project will be Tokyo Vice, which is currently in pre-production.
