Arsenal scouts watched Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen score a hat-trick against NAC Breda on Saturday.
The 20-year-old has scored six goals in 10 games this season and is being tipped for call-up to the Holland squad ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
Although he plays in Ajax’s midfield, he is capable of playing centre forward and has drawn comparisons with a young Dennis Bergkamp for his ability to create and score.

Coach Frank de Boer said: ‘Davy is an attacking midfielder who can play centre forward. He’s definitely very talented. Moreover, he’s a smart guy.’
Klaassen joined Ajax at the age of 11, progressing through the ranks at the Dutch club before making his first-team debut as a substitute in the Champions League clash with Lyon in November, 2011.
He made his first appearance in the Eredivisie a few days later, scoring in the 3-0 win at NEC Nijmegen, but only featured a handful of times over the following 18 months.
However, Klaassen has started this campaign like a house on fire, which have seen scouts flocking to the Amsterdam Arena.
