Kelly Osbourne arrived to the American Music Awards Sunday in Los Angeles in an ill-fitting prom-style dress

She has been given the job of judging celebrity style on her hit E! show, Fashion Police.
But Kelly Osbourne may well find herself on the worst dressed list after stepping out on the red carpet of the American Music Awards on Sunday.
The 29-year-old completely missed the mark in an ill-fitting prom dress that featured a metallic grey bodice and a flouncy full tulle skirt.

And she was quick to realise - tweeting: ':( my dress did not photograph anywhere near as good as it looked in real life!'

She confused the look even further by wearing strings of gold studs woven through her braided purple hair.
Kelly's dress was made by Rami Al Ali, the fashion designer who's now all the rage.

The British born star is capable of being ultra glamorous, so Sunday's odd look may have been a bid for attention among the crowd that included singers Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Hudson.
The reality TV star and daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne was one of the presenters at the award show, joining Nicole Richie on stage. 
She also did her share of behind-the-scenes hob-nobbing

The sober Osbourne joined Miley Cyrus, who was seen holding a half-drunk bottle of champagne.
In a nod to Cyrus' recent penchant for sticking her tongue out, Kelly joined her in the gesture and quickly added it to her twitter account.
'Celebrating @mileycyrus 21st birthday back stage at the #AMAS with @dendoll! Thank God she is finally legal!' she wrote.

Kelly also took a photo with model Heidi Klum while the two clowned around backstage.
The rock royalty seemed to be planning her hair style days in advance for the event.
On November 21, she posted a photo of her in French braids.
'Look how sick my hair looks...' she said.

That didn't help matters: Kelly was outshined by Nicole Richie as they presented onstage later in the evening

While being coiffed before Sunday's appearance, she also posted another photo of her tresses.
'I have no idea how people get their whole heads braided! This hurts so bad!' she wrote in an accompanying caption.
Besides hosting the E! fashion show, Osbourne also recently announced she'll be designing her own plus-sized clothing line.
