She may have lost out on the big win.
But Sofia Vergara, 41, certainly won the prize for the hardest  working dress at the Emmys when she sashayed down the carpet in an eye-popping Vera Wang number.
Chatting to the Modern Family star, E! red carpet host Giuliana Rancic exclaimed: 'Your dress has the hardest job on this red carpet keeping all that sexiness under control!'

Giggling, the bubbly actress agreed, saying: 'It's doing a very hard job!'
Looking typically ravishing, the Colombian-born beauty flaunted her fabulous figure in a curve-clinging red lace gown.
With a plunging neckline, form-fitting cut and fish-tail design, the dress emphasised her famous form.

Wearing her brunette locks down around her shoulders, the mother-of-one framed her face with a pair of droplet earrings made up of enormous rubies, emeralds and sapphires, each framed with diamonds.
Rancic also asked Sofia to reveal her least sexy trait.
'I can sleep naked in bed, but not without socks,' Vergara revealed. 'I have to wear socks at all times in bed!'

'That is definitely not sexy!' the host laughed.
Although, the fashion savvy television star cannot help vamping it up every chance she gets.
Sofia’s jewellery for the star-studded event cost more than most people make in a lifetime.

The Colombian-born actress was dripping in gems topping 161 carats, culminating in $7million worth of accessories, according to People.com’s Style Watch.

Included in her impressive roster of adornments were platinum earrings inlaid with rubies, sapphires and Colombian emeralds.

The ear bling was by itself 100 carats.

Completing her jewellery ensemble was a 40 carat diamond and emerald ring along with another 21 carat diamond ring.
But Vergara had a frightening fashion scare as her red lace Vera Wang dress couldn't stand up to the pressure of Emmy night - it ripped midway through the ceremonies.

The actress was seen fussing with the lace on the left side of her gown as her Modern Family co-stars were taking questions from the media backstage. When she stepped back, she revealed a tear.

Sofia explained that someone had stepped on her dress but it could be she jinxed herself.

Asked on the red carpet before the show what she was wearing, Vergara quipped that she had on underwear from the Kmart collection.

'But,' she added, 'you can't see that unless you rip the dress.'
The Latin beauty was joined at the event by her co-stars Ariel Winter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

While the male Modern Family members all opted for classic black tuxedos, 15-year-old Ariel Winter looked pretty in pink as she graced the carpet in a off-the-shoulder pastel gown, which was embellished with a band of silver beading around the waist.
While Sofia lost out to Nurse Jackie's Merritt Wever in the category of Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, Modern Family got plenty of bites at the cherry.
Ed O'Neill, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet were all up for the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series gong.
And in a stunning turn, Modern Family won for Best Comedy Series beating out 30 Rock and The Big Bang Theory.
