The promotional campaign for her
eagerly awaited new album continued in earnest on Wednesday, but Miley
Cyrus was clearly in two minds regarding what trousers she should wear –
flared or skinny?
Having
stepped out for an appearance at a TV studio on London’s Southbank, the
precocious singer had bravely decided the best thing to do was wear
both – and hope for the best.
Indeed,
Miley’s rather outlandish trousers were distinctive only in the
inconsistent circumference of each leg – with the right skinny enough to
cling to her shin, and the left a wild flare that flapped about her
ankle as she ventured into the building.
Those trousers can't be tamed: Miley Cyrus
leaves her London hotel wearing a pair of bizarre flared and skinny
trousers on Wednesday
The 20-year-old star matched her bizarre
bottom half, of which the right appeared to be sheer, with matching
cropped vest top and dark sunglasses – despite the lack of sun on a
gloomy morning in the capital.
Her decision to wear black left
little alternative when it came to choosing accessories, and the
fashion-forward singer chose wisely by opting for distinctive gold in
the form of three necklaces, the obligatory rings, bracelets and a
Chanel belt.
The
Chanel theme was recurrent, with Miley also wearing a cuff bracelet from
the luxurious French brand, while her right hand clutched the chain
handle of a small Chanel handbag.

Making waves: The Wrecking Ball singer offers a friendly hand gesture
With much of the week spent trawling
mainland Europe – her destinations have included France and Holland,
where she paid a lengthy visit to one of Amsterdam’s famous cafes – the
hit-maker looked unsurprisingly tired during her latest outing,
ostensibly to promote her forthcoming album and its second single,
Wrecking Ball.
The
track’s video is significantly less controversial than its predecessor,
We Can’t Stop, but it still sees Miley topless while she swings atop a
large demolition ball.

There are also strong signs that
she’s successfully severed all ties with wholesome Disney ambassador
Hannah Montana, the sweet, fun-loving teen that helped turn her into a
millionaire, a global superstar and a role model for children all over
the world before she’d celebrated 20th birthday.
Following
its release the video received 19 million hit in its first 24-hours,
beating One Direction’s comparatively tame Best Song Ever promo – which
picked up 10.7 million viewers during its first day – by a significant
margin.
The singer
divided fans last month when she danced provocatively with married
singer Robin Thicke while he performed his number one hit Blurred Lines
at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City – but the performance
hasn’t dampened the general anticipation for new album Bangerz, her
fourth in total but the first following her radical departure from her
Disney roots.
Bangerz will be released on October 4.
