Lehmann: Arsenal have paid too much for Ozil... but that's only because Real lost the plot when they signed Bale

Jens Lehmann believes that Arsenal have paid too much for Mesut Ozil but regardless insists that his compatriot will prove better value than Gareth Bale.
Arsenal signed Ozil for a club record £42.5million on transfer deadline day as Real Madrid sought income just days after the world-record signing of Bale.
Lehmann was Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper between 2003 and 2007 in a far more prudent period for the club, and though he rates Ozil highly he believes his transfer fee is a consequence of Bale's £86m move to Real when Los Blancos 'lost the plot'.

'In all honesty, Arsenal paid too much for Mesut Ozil,' Lehmann told German website Spox.
'But that’s because Gareth Bale went to Real Madrid for so much more money. Nobody is worth that much.
'The Ozil deal was much better. I don’t see a £42.5 million difference between the two players.
