Katy Perry takes a swing through the wild side in a plunging leopard-print bikini as she débuts Roar video

She has been through a painful two years with the very public failure of her short-lived marriage to comedian and actor Russell Brand.
But if there was ever any doubt that Katy Perry would bounce back with a vengeance, the singer has quashed them all with her latest video for her song Roar.
The 28-year-old star becomes the queen of the jungle in the video, taking on the perils of the wild and eventually winning - all by herself.

She swings through the trees, defeats a tiger and even paints an elephant's toenails a fetching shade of pink.
Initially, Katy arrives in the wild after a plane crash, accompanied by a handsome, but mean male companion who takes pictures of both of them with his mobile phone. 
However, her boyfriend is devoured by a lion, causing Katy to tackle the dangers of the wilderness on her own, albeit in an unusually conservative jungle suit.

She has an epiphany after looking into the river and seeing the image of a tiger looking back at her.
This in turn spurs her own to not only become her own woman, but to swap her ensemble for a more suitably wild - and less conservative outfit. 
Stepping out in a plunging jungle print bikini, Katy swings through the trees, makes friends with a monkey, wrestles an alligator and even builds a spear out of a stiletto heel.

Her inner tiger manages to frighten away a predator and she flexes her muscles amid the stunning green scenery.
Placing a flower garland on on her dark brown curls, it's clear Katy has no need of Tarzan, and becomes Jungle Jane, making her home among new new animal friends. 
Katy has described the video's plot as being: 'Kind of like Survivor and a little bit like Lost.'

She added to E! 'We are shooting with some very well-trained, very well-mannered animals. 'One monkey is named Ripley, believe it or not!'
She also revealed that her favourite animal to work with was the elephant, named Suzy: 'Because she wouldn't stop eating everything!' she tweeted.
Roar is the lead single from Katy's new album Prism which will be released on October 22.
