Russell Brand opens up on his struggle with fidelity during his marriage to Katy Perry

Russell Brand has revealed his battle with fidelity and how he would think of other women when having sex with his ex wife Katy Perry. 
The 38-year-old joked that being married was only slightly better than being a monk, during a recent show.
Russell was performing at The Soho Theatre last week, when he made the cutting remarks.

He said: 'When you're married, it's one person. That's one more than a monk. It's not that different'

The funnyman added: 'I'd be having sex thinking, "think of anyone, anyone else"', Entertainmentwise reports.

Russel and Katy's marriage ended in December 2011 after just 14 months together.

Katy, who is now smitten with musician John Mayer said she found Russell 'hysterical' until he made fun of her.

In the July edition of American Vogue she said: 'He started making jokes about me and he didn’t know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows.'

Russel, who was pictured locked in a passionate embrace with a brunette following his show in Soho is said to be trying to make amends to former flame Geri Halliwell.

A source told the Sun: 'Russell had wanted to make things up to Geri after it all ended badly last time they hooked up, so he contacted her when he arrived back in London and suggested meeting up for a yoga-session and a coffee, but she flat-out refused.'
