So no doubt fans would have been excited to see Rihanna sitting on Katy Perry's knee as they partied in New York on Monday.
The pair looked like they were having a great time as the Barbadian beauty supported her friend by attending her album pre-release party.

And it looks like the event was going down a storm, though the superstar duo unsurprisingly stole all the attention.

Katy, 27, made an effort for the event, donning a black and white jumper, an admirably high cut leather skirt and boots.

Rihanna meanwhile wore a black T-shirt and Jeans, though she courted controversy by carrying a cannabis leaf embossed handbag.

But it is far from the first time the Barbadian beauty has publicised her support for the drug.

In June she posted an image on the internet of herself smoking a rolled up cigarette, with the accompanying caption saying '#legalizeit.'

Katy’s fourth studio album, Prism, is due out in October, but the single Roar was leaked online Saturday.

It will be officially available on iTunes by midnight Monday.
