United grew wider on Friday night after the unhappy striker used his
Facebook page to deliver a sly dig at manager David Moyes.
The forward posted a public ‘Thank You’ to Roy Hodgson in which he
acknowledged the support shown by England’s head coach following his

And he made no reference to his shoulder injury, with the tone of his post suggesting that he would be fit to face Scotland in Wednesday’s friendly at Wembley.
The striker, who has been the subject of a £30million offer from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, has grown increasingly frustrated during the past few days and made his feelings clear.

The comments came late in a day that had begun with Rooney training at Carrington at 9am alongside half a dozen of United’s Under 21 development squad led by Nicky Butt. It ended another week spent in isolation from the first team.

That is what it has come to for Rooney, warming up in a group of wannabe footballers before he joins the England squad tomorrow.
He is out in the cold, his spirit crushed as he waits on Mourinho to keep his promise and rescue him from Old Trafford. It is no way to prepare for a huge season ahead, a year in which Rooney will be expected to lead England’s charge towards next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
