For her latest album Prism, Katy Perry has already rolled out an 18-wheeler gold truck with the title of the record sprawled across it, and on Monday the singer arrived wearing a blue satin jacket emblazoned with the artwork for lead single Roar.
But unfortunately for Katy, 28, the jacket was somewhat overshadowed by an ill-advised red crushed velvet dress.
Taking a cue from the fashion trends of the '80s, Katy finished off her odd ensemble with a metallic belt and black boots.
Katy arrived in New York City to promote her new single Roar and posed with her screaming fans outside her tour truck.
The gold truck recently made headlines for the wrong reasons after it was a hit by a drunk driver.
Promotion: Katy also showed off a tiger embroidered jacket which appears on the artwork for her new single Roar
Teenage angst: Katy has said her latest effort Prism will be a lot 'darker' than her last album
According to TMZ the drunk driver was arrested following the incident that happened around 5pm inside a Walmart parking lot.
Meanwhile Katy has spoken about the 'darker' aspect of her new record and it seems Katy's fashion sense is increasingly going down a more Gothic route.

after a drunk driver crashed into it last week
Interesting ensemble: Katy's outfit looked more
like a teenage nightmare than a dream as she arrived in NYC to promote
new single Road, and her third album Prism
Back in business: Katy's promotional truck appeared to be in good condition despite suffering a crash last week
Speaking to Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills in the UK she said of the single: 'It's a bit of a self-empowering type of song. I wrote it because I was sick of keeping all these feelings inside and now speaking up for myself, which cause a lot of resentment.'
'Obviously I've been through a lot of therapy since my last record and that's what this is about.'

Roar is her most grown-up song yet, the lyrics painting the tale of a determined woman eager to learn from her mistakes.
The new single takes a sombre turn for the singer, known more for her saccharine music videos such as California Gurls and Last Friday Night and fun and flirtatious tunes like I Kissed A Girl and E.T.
There's high expectation for her next release after her last album, Teenage Dream, was the first album since Michael Jackson's Bad to generate five number one singles from the same record on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
