So it's no wonder that Katy Perry is thoroughly embracing the theme behind her latest song.
Titled Roar, the singer was spotted filming the accompanying music video in Arcadia, California on Thursday dressed in an outfit original jungle woman Jane would be proud to wear.
You Tarzan, me Jane: The singer wore a colourful
flower wreath in her hair, though she appeared nervous - perhaps at
filming with wild animals
Donning a cheater-print cropped top and flirty green leaf skirt, the star was flashing plenty of toned and tanned flesh.
At one point, she even gave onlookers an eyeful of her pert derriere as a small breeze caught the flimsy material.
She accessorised the outfit with flip flops and sported brown leather laces threaded up her lower legs, while a pretty flower wreath took pride of place atop of her long black hair, which cascaded down her back in gentle waves.
The video clip also reportedly stars some of the star's favourite four-legged friends.
Elephants, tigers, monkeys and alligators make a starring role, along with a variety of other wildlife - which no doubt made for some hair-raising experiences on set.
That same day, the 28-year-old debuted the cover art for Roar, which features a colouful tiger-print boarder.
Wearing a navy blue silk jacket with a large hand-painted lion design, the singer displays the image to full effect by turning her back to the camera, giving a sultry look over her right shoulder.
Roar is the first single to be released from Katy's highly-anticipated third studio album, Prism.
The Teenage Dream hitmaker will give fans a preview of the song in full next Monday, August 12, ahead of the album's official release on October 22.
Perry's forthcoming album apparently signals a change in direction for the bubblegum-pop singer.
In several teasers released to garner interest in the new tune, Katy is seen setting fire to her bright blue California Gurls wig, before attending a funeral for her evidently deceased former persona.
A third clip shows a cute kitten playing with a feather chew toy, before roaring into the camera as a snippet of the single begins to play.
'Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, a new beginning is a must!' she tweeted on August 5, along with the funeral footage.
Wild thing! Katy appears fresh-faced and wears a
blue silk jacket emblazoned with a lion's head in the cover art for her
new single, which she debuted on Thursday
