The big budget film, which is due to be released on July 12, sees an army of human-controlled robots take on a race of aliens who have emerged from the depths of the sea to destroy the human race.
Idris is also currently starring as another tough guy as DCI Luther in the third series of the BBC Crime-Thriller series Luther.
